This article showcases Nail Technician Flyer and Banner Designs for Amanda Hawtree-Taft (Nail Artist and Educator for Crystal Nails). Amanda needed a range of professionally designed flyers and banners to promote her new nail art courses and workshops.
#Tip 1: Choose a good design program
Make use of what you already have
Using a branded product image or a company logo is always a great start to kick of a design idea. Amanda sent over the Crystal Nails Extreme Fushion Gel image, a black & white and colour version of flowers that she wanted to incorporate into the designs.
# Tip 2: Choose a background that works with your style/branding
Amanda wanted a feminine vintage feel to flyers. Used the flower background with transparency with a pink border picked from the flowers.
Using the images provided I took various colours and tones using a colour picker tool to use for the base colour of the flower which shows as a border around the design.
I used a black and white flower background for the fusion flyer to complement the main image and a vintage colourised version for the others.
# Tip 3: Complimentary Colours
pinks, greys, wine, white
Using the images provided I took various colours and tones using a colour picker tool to use for the various elements used throughout the designs.
# Tip 4: Choose fonts carefully
clear stand our especially against busy background
year edged with white to highlight
Logo or text to add to the vintage feel – could also of used a vintage style typeface
big enough to read balance out
# Tip 4: Choose fonts carefully
Contact details at the base tying in
speak about the facebook ones as well.
# Tip 5: Choose fonts carefully
ck and white flower background really made the graphics stand out. Another flower background was applied to the main text box with some transparency, enough for the text to peep through. This added contrast and softened the flyer. The text box holding the main details had a shadow applied to make the box have a slight raised effect to prevent looking flat.
Amanda’s logo was added, which we also designed whilst building the flyers following Amanda’s request for a signature style with an elegant touch. Black header and footer banners were used to balance the colours.
Amanda wanted a vintage feminine feel to cross over the designs, so the same background was used the previous flyer but this time in colour. The background used a faded lilac colour picked up from one of the flowers, with the course description placed in a white transparent text box. The transparent text box just showing some flower detail to peek through but not to distract from the main information. The text box also had a shadow applied to the border to prevent looking flat. The banners used a lilac colour taken from the flowers and the diagonal banner used a wine colour with a white border to compliment the pinky lilac colour theme.
Nail Art Courses Facebook Headers
Amanda also needed some promotional flyers for nail art courses hosted by Barbara UJvari.

Highly, highly recommend Jane. She is incredibly professional and efficient but also wonderfully creative. She was able to translate my ideas into amazing designs. Jane also offered plenty of advice, guidance and ideas to make my business flyers really unique. I couldn’t fault the service, the entire experience or the results.” Amanda Hawtree-Taft
